Two More Butterfies

Just an hour after we released the first one, another hatched. It was late afternoon when it became fully functional. When the second one was taken outside to be released, we noticed that a third had hatched. The third one is still in the butterfly house. I guess that since it hatched so late in the day, it hasn't tried to open it's wings yet. In fact it is still at the top of the butterfly house snoozing. We haven't actually seen one come out of it's Chrysalis yet. But with about 15-20 of them, I am sure that we will.
When we released the second one, it did linger and I was able to get more pictures. It was heavenly.
On the sad side of things though, one of our chickens died unexpectedly. It was one of the two older ones. Her sister had been laying for 3 weeks now and she hadn't. I wonder if it had anything to do with that.

Very beautiful butterflies! That would be neat to see one emerge from the cocoon.
